By working together in the same week all over the world, their message is louder, demonstrates global diversity in activities and creates excitement as people feel part of their growing global community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-nsm-1-1069\" src=\"http:\/\/zoldenergiablog.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/shutterstock_39424855-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Making It Happen!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldgbc.org\/\"><strong>WorldGBC<\/strong><\/a> provides the global platform (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldgreenbuildingweek.org\">www.worldgreenbuildingweek.org<\/a>) to showcase your activities internationally. This year, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldgbc.org\/\"><strong>WorldGBC<\/strong><\/a> encouraging people to <em>take direct action<\/em> \u2013 to \u2018<strong>Get Up, Green Up\u2019.<\/strong> The theme is broader than in past years, so that it can be adapted to suit each GBC\u2019s priorities.\u00a0Some examples are:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em>Start a pledge program!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em>Encourage people to take action to \u2018Get Up, Green Up\u2019 their buildings with a pledge program.\u00a0 For example, an individual might pledge to cycle to work one day a week, a small business may pledge to become a paper-free office, or a large organization may pledge to undertake a lighting retrofit to reduce energy consumption.\u00a0 See what the Earth Day Network did with A Billion Acts of Green: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthday.org\/takeaction\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">www.earthday.org\/takeaction<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em>Get out and green!<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Bring your members together to focus on a shared activity \u2013 whether that\u2019s planting trees, building a vegetable garden at a local school or cleaning up your local park.\u00a0 Share your photos on social media to remind your members that they are part of an active global community.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each year, the number of events held around the world has almost doubled.
